The staff of the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office will do everything possible to ensure the safety and protection of all county residents and visitors to our county to include their respective property. The Sheriff’s Office will at all times do good and treat people fairly, respectfully, and with dignity. The purpose of the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office page and

all social media platforms is to present matters of public interest to Shenandoah County residents, businesses, and visitors of all ages and backgrounds in a moderated, online discussion board format that promotes community outreach and engagement. These platforms provide transparency of SCSO activities, including, but not limited to crime data and statistics, arrests, investigations, staff and department accomplishments, time sensitive public safety notifications, recruitment, as well as community news and information. We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns about these matters by email ([email protected]) or by submitting comments to particular releases/posts. However, please note this page is not a public forum, but a moderated discussion board reviewed periodically during normal business hours. To further the purpose of this page, the Sheriff’s Office will remove comments to posts that are: (1) clearly off topic; (2) spam; (3) advocacy for illegal activity; (4) vulgar; or (5) personal attacks. This site is not monitored to receive reports of crime or other official correspondence. If you need help, please call (540) 459-6100 for non-emergencies or 911 in an emergency. All criminal arrest and investigation information published by the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office is derived from public documents. ***SCSO 2026 Virginia Rules Camp***

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the 2026 Virginia Rules Camp, a free day camp for county youth ages 11 to 13, sponsored by the Office of the Attorney General. This four-day camp will take place July 27th through July 30th, with daily drop-off and pick-up at Edinburg Park, at the pavilion closest to the pool.

Please note, space is limited—registration will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis, and we can only accommodate the first 20 registrants.

If you are interested in signing your child up to receive a backpack and school supplies, please contact the Shenandoah County Department of Social Services at (540) 459-6226. This is open to all homeschooled, private school, and public school students, grades Pre-k through 12. Please register by July 18th, 2026.
