This has been posted before but here it is again. The VT Fish & Wildlife page is a wealth of knowledge to assist with day to day wildlife issue. There is even a link that people can use to report bear encounters which I have been told it goes to more than one Fish & Wildlife Officer.

Seeing black bears in their natural surroundings is exciting. But when bears venture into human territory, problems can occur and bears often pay the price.

🚨 Bear Activity Alert 🚨

A juvenile bear has been very active in the Village this evening.

Residents are reminded to secure all garbage, pet food, bird feeders, and other potential food sources. Please do not give the bear an opportunity to become interested in your property.

The Woodstock Police Department is aware of the situation and is monitoring bear activity. A Game Warden from the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department will be in the area tomorrow to assist the Police Department.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep both our community and local wildlife safe.
