Dear Friends,
We’re looking for volunteers to help with one of the simplest, but most important, ways we can care for Lt. Michael R. Davidson Playground: opening and closing the playground gate each day.
The commitment is small but the sense of civic pride is huge. It only takes a few minutes, but it makes a real difference.
By volunteering to open the gate in the morning or lock it in the evening, you are helping us keep the playground safe, clean, and welcoming for our children, families, and neighbors. Recently, a NYC Parks Department official reported at a Community Board meeting that they worried the playground was becoming an after hours dog run and thanked us for stepping up to address the concern.

We’re asking members of the Friends group to sign up for available morning and evening slots. Whether you can help once, once a week, or occasionally when your schedule allows, every shift helps.
