Fleurs de Villes THE GILDED AGE arrives at Filoli this week, but we couldn’t wait to bring some gilded glamour to your feed a bit early ✨

Before 15 spectacular floral mannequins inspired by the iconic HBO® series take over the Historic House, we’re taking a peek at some Gilded Age fashion from Filoli’s very own collection.

This 1880 Bourn family heirloom has plenty to admire, from its rich red velvet and fashionable asymmetry to an intricately detailed floral vine climbing the bustle. But most importantly, it has pockets! 😱

Watch for a little glimpse at the details that make 19th-century fashion so fascinating, and a preview of what beauty awaits when fresh flowers become the gowns 🌸

21,033 pounds. 10.5 tons. Three very determined water lilies 🔍🪷

The training is complete. The weights have been loaded. And our Nymphaea are ready for the The Official Waterlily Weigh-Off 💪

Our Chief Frogperations Officer Alex has been watching these lilies put in long hours in the pond for over 30 years, preparing for this very moment.

The training has been intense. The weights? Questionable 🐸🦩🐒🦛

From featherweight flamingos to just a few supplemental 3,000-lb hippos, our lilies are ready to prove the only thing sinking in this Sunken Garden is the competition

A huge thank you to Denver Botanic Gardens for organizing the most important botanical sporting event of the summer! 🏆🌿

And to all of our fellow mini lilies competing for the crown: good luck! May your pads be strong and your weights be heavy 💚

What can 654 acres of nature + stewardship make possible?

This year, the Harvest Gala will support Nature Programs at Filoli, helping us care for this land while making meaningful connections to nature even more accessible to the communities we serve.

In the weeks leading up to Gala, we'll be sharing a few stories of what that support looks like in action.

Golden hour + “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” = one unforgettable night in the meadow 🌅

American Idol winner Iam Tongi brough sweet serenades and a piece of Hawaiʻi magic Summer Stage this week 🌺

Thank you to everyone who danced the night away as the sun set over the Santa Cruz Mountains
