uilt to educate children of color. Our Great-Great grandparents, Jim and Mary Ledford, were indentured servants in Roaring Springs, Kentucky. They lived to see their freedom by the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. They left Kentucky and came to Tennessee and worked as day-labor farmers. Eventually, they saved enough money to purchase this 80-acre farm in the early 1870s. Their descendants are now living all over the United States and abroad. The Ledford, Williams, Rogers Family Reunion is a celebration that occurs, in one of four states annually, in the following order: Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Tenn. We gather here in Tenn, at the birthplace of our family every four years. We invite all to experience the rolling hills and flowing creeks that make wildlife our refuge.
