☀️ HEAT ADVISORY SAFETY MESSAGE ☀️
The Woodland Volunteer Fire Department would like to remind everyone to take extra precautions during the current heat advisory. High temperatures and humidity can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses.
Heat Safety Tips: ✅ Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
✅ Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
✅ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
✅ Take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas.
✅ Never leave children, adults, or pets unattended in a vehicle.
✅ Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and those with medical conditions.
🔥 Outdoor Burning Warning 🔥
With the combination of extremely hot temperatures, dry conditions, and low moisture levels, any outdoor fire can spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Please use extreme caution when burning outdoors and closely monitor any authorized burns.
Even a small fire can quickly grow into a dangerous situation, threatening homes, property, and lives. These conditions also place our firefighters in hazardous environments as they work to contain and extinguish fires in extreme heat.
We ask everyone to do their part to prevent wildfires and brush fires by: • Avoiding unnecessary outdoor burning.
• Never leaving a fire unattended.
• Properly extinguishing all fire pits, grills, and burn piles.
• Disposing of ci******es responsibly.
Your safety is our priority. Please stay cool, stay hydrated, and help us keep our community safe.
