The Borough of Woodland Park Police Department has been investigating recently received complaints alleging prostitution occurring at local area massage parlors. For the past few months, our agency, in collaboration with the Passaic County’s Sheriff’s Office, investigated these complaints and can now share an update with the public.
On July 23, 2025, Woodland Park Police Department members successfully partnered with members of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department in an investigation targeting illegal prostitution and it’s promotion.
The Woodland Park Police Department officers that participated in the investigation were Detective/Sergeant Leonard Schaefer, Detective Daniel Schaefer, Officer Marc Bonilla, Officer Alessio Esposito, Officer Lidia Aguilar, and Officer David Garcia. Their coordinated efforts led to three successful raids at massage parlors located in Woodland Park:
• Beauty Medical Center, 281 Browertown Road
• Eastern Cozy Spa,
271 Overmount Avenue
• Sunlight Spa,
1000 McBride Avenue
The operation led to multiple arrests for soliciting prostitution and for the promotion of prostitution, as well as the seizure of $13,653, which is suspected to be proceeds from illegal activities.
The following listed suspects were arrested, charged and released pending court appearance:
- Ling Jiang, 64, of Woodland Park, was arrested at Eastern Cozy Spa, 271 Overmount Avenue. She was charged with promoting prostitution.
- Haili Wang, 39, of Woodland Park, was also arrested at Eastern Cozy Spa, 271 Overmount Avenue and charged with soliciting prostitution.
- Kyung Ja Kim, 63, of Woodland Park, was arrested at Sunlight Spa, 1000 McBride Avenue and charged with soliciting and promoting prostitution.
- Susan Dayana Morales Roa, 35, of Ridgefield Park, was arrested at Beauty Medical Center Spa, 281 Browertown Road and charged with soliciting and promoting prostitution.
Note: All suspects that were arrested and charged with prostitution offenses are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
