🚨 Attention Woodland Park Residents: Back-to-School Safety 🚨

Tomorrow marks the first day of school, and we ask everyone to stay alert during drop-off and pick-up times around our schools. Here’s what you need to know:

Obey Speed Limits: Speed limits are in place to ensure safety for all. Please stick to the posted limits near schools, especially during school hours.

Watch for Pedestrians: Always be vigilant for children crossing at marked and unmarked crosswalks, especially at intersections.

School Bus Safety: 🚍 Remember, New Jersey law requires drivers to stop at least 25 feet behind a school bus with flashing lights. You must remain stopped until the lights turn off and the stop arm retracts. This law applies even if there's no physical barrier separating lanes.

Expect Traffic Delays: There will likely be heavier traffic than usual, so please plan ahead and allow extra time for your commute.

Parking: Parking will be very limited around schools. Please respect No Parking zones and make sure you're not blocking driveways or crosswalks.

Our top priority is the safety of our children, so let’s all do our part to ensure a smooth and safe school year for everyone.

The Woodland Park Police Department wishes our students, teachers, staff, and families a fantastic and safe school year! 📚🎒

Thank you and stay safe!

The Borough of Woodland Park Police Department has been investigating recently received complaints alleging prostitution occurring at local area massage parlors. For the past few months, our agency, in collaboration with the Passaic County’s Sheriff’s Office, investigated these complaints and can now share an update with the public.

On July 23, 2025, Woodland Park Police Department members successfully partnered with members of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department in an investigation targeting illegal prostitution and it’s promotion.

The Woodland Park Police Department officers that participated in the investigation were Detective/Sergeant Leonard Schaefer, Detective Daniel Schaefer, Officer Marc Bonilla, Officer Alessio Esposito, Officer Lidia Aguilar, and Officer David Garcia. Their coordinated efforts led to three successful raids at massage parlors located in Woodland Park:

• Beauty Medical Center, 281 Browertown Road

• Eastern Cozy Spa,
271 Overmount Avenue

• Sunlight Spa,
1000 McBride Avenue

The operation led to multiple arrests for soliciting prostitution and for the promotion of prostitution, as well as the seizure of $13,653, which is suspected to be proceeds from illegal activities.

The following listed suspects were arrested, charged and released pending court appearance:

- Ling Jiang, 64, of Woodland Park, was arrested at Eastern Cozy Spa, 271 Overmount Avenue. She was charged with promoting prostitution.

- Haili Wang, 39, of Woodland Park, was also arrested at Eastern Cozy Spa, 271 Overmount Avenue and charged with soliciting prostitution.

- Kyung Ja Kim, 63, of Woodland Park, was arrested at Sunlight Spa, 1000 McBride Avenue and charged with soliciting and promoting prostitution.

- Susan Dayana Morales Roa, 35, of Ridgefield Park, was arrested at Beauty Medical Center Spa, 281 Browertown Road and charged with soliciting and promoting prostitution.

Note: All suspects that were arrested and charged with prostitution offenses are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
