Hello Battalion 17,
With the expected temperature of 105 and 40-50% humidity, the heat index today will be in excess of 120 degrees in the shade. Please make sure you are properly hydrated and if you don't need to be outside stay in a cooled area.

How to read the chart: find the temperature on the left hand side, then move to the right until you find the column for the approximate relative humidity. That number will be the temperature that it will "feel" like. Example: A temperature of 96 and relative humidity of 50% will "feel" like 108 degr...

Hello Battalion 17,
If you haven't been keeping up with the news, we had 2 medium earthquakes in Frazier Park in the last 24 hours.(4.1 and 3.2) Of important note, This is where the San Andreas fault runs. The Southern portion of the San Andreas fault has not ruptured since 1857. NOW is the time to make sure you are prepared. Don't wait until the next earthquake to start getting prepared.

I wanted to let you know that rattlesnakes are out early this year. There have been 2 fatal snake bites in the last week. When walking in the hills make sure to stay on trails. Don't cut across grass fields as you might get a surprise..

Hello Battalion 17,
Starting tomorrow afternoon we are expecting heavy rains. The national weather service has issued a Flood watch with possible amount of 2 inches per day. Do not attempt to drive through flooded intersections. If you live in the hills there is possibilities of mud slides. If driving on the freeway, try to stay out of the fast lane as this is often flooded and can cause your car to hydroplane or spin out.

We have a significant weather system coming starting this evening. Forecasts are for 2-4 inches with potential of 3-6 in the mountains and foothills. Please do not attempt to drive through flooded streets. Be on the look out for down trees and wires. Stay out of any flood control areas.
