Electric scooters and bikes. The Village of Woodhull understands the need for rules to be put into an Ordinance. Such as regarding the rules of where they can be ridden and at what age a person must be to operate an electric scooter or an electric bike. At what speed limit and time of day. All will be addressed. Safety must come first and those riding these items may not even be trained on the rules of the road. Parents before we have an accident instruct your children to obey all road signs just as if they were driving a car or truck.Driving on the correct side of the road. Also, the State of Illinois is in the process of creating Illinois law regarding electric scooters and bikes. The Village wants everyone to be safe. In order to do that each person operating any mode of operation must be mindful of many things.

Please everyone who uses the recycling dumpsters let's make sure all residents can take advantage of them:

Breakdown all cardboard boxes.

Empty your bag of recycling so the person picking it up won't have to open it to check to see if it truly is recycling. Plus it makes more room in the bin.

No carpeting of any size.

No liquids.

No wax coated boxes. Such as butter boxes, frozen food boxes, pizza boxes or the cardboard the pizzas come on if they have grease or food on them.

Absolutely no mattresses, yup someone did that.

Thank you for reading this post and let's try to be thoughtful of the next person who comes to unload.

โ„๏ธWinter Safety Reminder โ„๏ธ

We love seeing kids enjoy the snow, but we need your help keeping them safe. Please do not allow your children to play on or near snow piles along the streets.

๐Ÿšœ Snow piles can hide oncoming traffic, ice, debris, or moving plows
๐Ÿ‘€ Drivers and plow operators may not be able to see children playing nearby
๐Ÿš— Reduced visibility and slick roads create serious risks

Please encourage kids to play in yards, parks, or other safe areas away from the street. A little extra caution now can prevent a serious accident.

Thank you for helping keep our children and our community safe this winter. ๐Ÿ’™
