Arrival and Dismissal
We are excited to welcome our Wildcats each morning! Please review the information below to help make arrival safe, smooth, and efficient for everyone.
School Hours
Regular school day: 8:48 AM–3:43 PM
Half day: 8:48 AM–12:05 PM
Students may begin entering the building at 8:38 AM.
A Weiss staff member will be at the main entrance greeting students when it is time to enter.
Morning Drop-Off
When you arrive at Weiss, please use the drive-up loop in front of the school.
Students will enter through the main doors beginning at 8:38 AM.
Parents and caregivers should remain in their vehicles while students exit.
Students will be released from the hallway to head to their classrooms at 8:43 AM.
Staff will be outside and inside the building to welcome students and help them find their classrooms if needed.
Tardy Arrival
A student who arrives at their classroom at 8:55 AM or later will be marked tardy.
If you arrive after 8:55 AM, please park and walk your child into the office to sign them in. This helps us maintain a safe and consistent morning routine for all students and classrooms.
Using the Drop-Off Loop
To help keep traffic moving:
Please pull as far forward as possible when using the drop-off loop.
Staff members will be outside to help direct cars and make the most of the available sidewalk space.
Once you reach the sidewalk, please remain in your vehicle while your child exits.
Please have your child ready to exit the vehicle promptly.
Need to Walk Your Child Inside?
We understand that sometimes a child may need extra help getting into the building. If you need to get out of your vehicle:
Stay in the drop-off line until you can safely turn left into the parking lot.
Park in the parking lot, not the drop-off loop.
Use the designated crosswalk near the main entrance.
Walk your child to the main doors.
For everyone's safety, please do not pass cars in the drop-off line to get to the parking lot. This can create a safety hazard for students, families, and oncoming traffic.
Half-Day Reminder
Tuesday, September 8th is a half day!
Students will be dismissed at 12:05 PM.
Please make sure you have made arrangements for your child’s dismissal on this day.
We want dismissal to be safe, smooth, and efficient for everyone! Please review the information below to help us make the end of the day a positive experience for our Wildcats and families.
Dismissal Procedures
At the end of the school day, students will exit the building through their classroom exterior doors.
If You Are Using the Car Line
Please help us keep dismissal safe by following these guidelines:
Students should enter and exit from the passenger side of the vehicle. This keeps students safely on the sidewalk side of the car.
Please stay in the dismissal line and do not pass other vehicles. You may leave the line once you can safely turn into the main parking lot.
When leaving the Weiss parking lot, please stop at the STOP sign at the end of the Weiss drive before turning onto Reaume. This is especially important when traffic is traveling along Reaume.
Please do not block driveways on Reaume Street while waiting for the car line to move.
For everyone's safety, please follow the directions of staff members helping to guide traffic.
Walking Up to Pick Up Your Child
If you plan to park and walk up to the building:
Please arrive in the main parking lot by 3:30 PM to avoid getting caught in the car line.
Please use the designated crosswalk when walking between the parking lot and the building.
Please do not walk between cars in the dismissal line. This creates a safety concern and can slow down the flow of traffic.
Help Us Get Everyone Home Quickly!
As we get to know all of our wonderful Weiss families, please place a sign with the following information in your passenger-side window:
Student Name • Teacher Name • Grade Level
This simple step will help our staff quickly identify your family and get your child to the correct vehicle.
💙 Thank You, Weiss Families!
We know that the beginning of the school year can come with a few adjustments as everyone learns the routines. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and cooperation as we work together to make dismissal safe, organized, and efficient for everyone.

Thank you for helping make Weiss a safe and welcoming place for all! 💙🤍
