At a recent City Council meeting, two talented Woodbury residents were recognized for their success in the nationwide Congressional Art Competition for high school students.

Woodbury resident and East Ridge High School student, Alyssa Wang, earned first place in Minnesota's 4th Congressional District for her piece, "Color Me Happy." Woodbury resident and Perpich Arts High School student, Will Kongdara, earned first place in Minnesota's 5th Congressional District for his piece, "Bowl of Unity."

First place winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. Their winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

Congratulations, Will and Alyssa!

Woodbury Parks & Recreation and Woodbury, MN Police Fire EMS continue to work to inform and educate our community about various e-transportation modes.

As Spring arrives, we remind all riders to prioritize safety and use good trail etiquette.
• E-motos are not permitted in city parks or on city trails. These devices can throttle more than 20 mph. Street legal e-motos must be licensed with the State of Minnesota before operation on roadways.
• Electric-assisted bike (e-bike) riders must be at least 15 years of age, per state law.
• E-scooter users must be at least 12 years old and must wear a helmet, per state law.
• Gas-powered/combustible modes are not permitted in city parks or city trails, and only allowed on city streets if properly licensed.

As the use of these modes of transportation increase our officers will be in the community talking with riders and connecting with guardians to ensure our community stays safe.

Construction of the Woodbury Public Safety Campus remodel and expansion project is scheduled to begin later this month.

Yesterday (Thursday, April 30), our police, fire and emergency medical services (EMS) teams temporarily moved out of the current Public Safety building and relocated to various locations across the city. No matter where our team is located, we are committed to keeping the community safe and responding quickly when needed.

How to connect with Public Safety during construction:
• Public safety administrative services are now available at City Hall.
• Fire and EMS crews will operate from the city’s three other stations on Upper Afton Road, Thames Road and Fox Run Road.
• Additional public safety staff will temporarily work out of the former Washington County License Center building just south of the current Public Safety facility on Radio Drive. However, this temporary site will not be open to the public.
• For non-emergency police, fire or EMS needs, call Washington County Dispatch at 651-439-9381.
• Call 911 in emergency police, fire or medical situations.

Thank you for your continued support of this project, our services and our first responders.
