Update on the ongoing internet outage affecting the City of Woodbury:

We have had repeated communication with AT&T in an effort to find a solution — or at minimum, receive a timeline for restoration. Unfortunately, as of the close of business today, AT&T has still not provided the City with an explanation nor an estimated time for service restoration.

This morning, I spoke directly with Senator Robertson to make him aware of the situation and request assistance in escalating the matter. Senator Robertson was able to connect us with AT&T executives in an effort to move this issue forward, and we appreciate his willingness to assist our community.

At this time, however, we still have not received any definitive update regarding when internet service will be fully restored.

We understand the frustration and disruption this outage has caused for residents, businesses, and those who rely on internet access for work and communication. We will continue pressing for answers and will provide updates as soon as additional information becomes available.

Dear Citizens of Woodbury,

I want to provide an update regarding the ongoing frustrations many residents have experienced with our AT&T internet service.

Despite multiple meetings and discussions concerning our service agreement and overall performance expectations, the city continues to experience significant reliability and outage issues. AT&T’s Regional Director has advised that some disruptions may be related to repeated incidents involving damage or theft of equipment and wiring affecting infrastructure in the area.

In response, the city has engaged an independent internet specialist to further evaluate the outages and determine whether the issues are related to infrastructure damage, contractor performance, or other factors connected to the service agreement.

Please know that we remain committed to providing the best possible service to our community. If these issues continue without satisfactory resolution, the city will carefully evaluate whether it remains in Woodbury’s best interest to continue with AT&T as our provider.

Should any future changes become necessary, residents will be given adequate notice and transition information well in advance.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue working toward a reliable long-term solution for our community.
