To conclude this series, today's topic is RESOURCES! Where do you reach out if you have questions or concerns about making a report? If you need support or have questions about making a report reach out to your local Child Advocacy Center! If you're unsure of where to find one you can contact National Children's Alliance at www.nca-online.org or 1-800-239-9950.

Child abuse helplines are also excellent resources. Helplines have staff, specifically trained operators, to deal with questions about suspected child sexual abuse. Call the Sexual Assault Hotline, 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) to be routed to resources in your own community, or call the ChildHelp USA National Child Abuse Hotline, 1-800-4-A-CHILD (800-422-4453).

Join us for a mini-series to discuss the basics of child abuse prevention. Today's topic is WHY do I have to report? While we teach in our Darkness to Light training that safe adults always act in the best interest of children, the answer is even more simple. Every adult in the State of Tennessee is a mandated reporter of child abuse. If you know of, or suspect child abuse report it!

One in every ten children will be sexually abused before they turn 18, and predators are often known and trusted by the family.

Before you send your child to camps this summer, ask what they're doing to prevent child sexual abuse in their organizations. Are children ever alone with adults? Are children ever alone together? How are bathroom breaks or clothing changes handled? Let us help you get educated on the facts by scheduling a FREE Darkness to Light child abuse prevention training. No group is too large or small. Churches, camps, schools, daycares, medical facilities, and concerned individuals are among the groups we commonly train.
