These are our officers. Humans filled with compassion, empathy, respect, composure, and commitment to unwavering service.
On Thursday, May 21, Woodbury Detective Kim Richardson, Detective Caitlin Jaworski and Community Service Officer Stephanie Sosa were instrumental in helping ensure an individual in crisis on the St. Croix River bridge felt seen, valued and supported enough to return to safety.
Detective Richardson and Jaworski are skilled negotiators, known for their calm communication, patience, deep empathy, ability to build rapport and de-escalate a situation. Community Service Officer Sosa was able to translate for officers and demonstrated deep compassion and dedication to her partners and community. Together, these partners, along with officers from other agencies, listened to, talked with, and supported this individual in crisis for nearly an hour, until this individual chose to come back to safety.
We are proud of the way our team works together and the way they utilize the training and tools they have. More importantly, we are proud of who our people are.
