Cannon County Soil and Water Conservation District Environmental Conservation Organization/Agricultural Cooperative

The Cannon County Soil and Water Conservation District provides technical assistance to help individuals, groups, organizations conserve soil and water resources. Technical assistance and services include: Assistance to land users in planning and implementing a conservation plan designed to meet their individual needs and to keep the land user in compliance with the 1985 Food Security Act to reduc

e soil erosion and improve water quality. The Cannon County Soil and Water Conservation District partners with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to work with private landowners to help protect natural resources. They provide assistance to landowners through cost share programs that promote conservation of our natural resources.

NOTICE OF ELECTION
Pursuant to TCA code 43-14-201 Due notice is hereby given that an election will be held Friday February 20th 8:00 am -3:00 pm and Saturday February 21st 8:00 am to 12:00 pm for 3 positions on Cannon County Soil and Water Conservation Board. Polling place will be Woodbury Farmer Co-op At 400 McMinnville Hwy in Woodbury. Nomination petition submittal deadline is February 13, 2026, by 3:00 pm at the Cannon County Soil and Water Conservation District Office at 740 Old McMinnville Rd Woodbury.
Per TCA 43-14-216, only persons holding legal title to lands within Cannon County are eligible to vote in this election.

Dr. Bruno C. Pedreira serves as the UT Extension Forage Specialist and Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is also Director of the UT Beef & Forage Center and Coordinator of the Tennessee Master Forage Program, a statewide educational initiative aimed at enhancing forage and livestock management practices across Tennessee.

As a participant of the program you will receive credit for attending and be eligible for 50% cost share in the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement program.
