On Friday , a ceremony was held at Woodbury Heights 911 Memorial At Veterans Park to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The Woodbury Heights Fire Department along with Wenonah Volunteer Fire Company partnered together for this memorial service.

We honor the families, survivors, first responders, and all those whose lives were forever changed. Their courage and sacrifice serve as a lasting reminder of the strength and commitment of those who serve.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Overnight, Woodbury Heights FD with
Chief 15 and Deputy 15 operated at a three-alarm apartment building fire in neighboring Deptford Township. Multiple alarms were transmitted as fire extended throughout the multiple-occupant apartment building.

Last night our probationary members currently attending Gloucester County Fire Academy this semester for their Firefighter 1 certification gave a presentation on their SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus), the equipment that supplies firefighters with clean air to breathe in smoke filled and low oxygen environments.

It was a great opportunity for them to share what they’ve been learning at the academy and show the rest of the department how well they know their equipment.

Seeing our newest members grow like this is a reminder of how rewarding this journey can be. WHFD is always looking for new members who want to serve their community, learn valuable skills, and become part of a team that has each other’s backs. No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn. If you’ve ever thought about joining, now is a great time to reach out and see what it’s all about.
