Bill Wilson's daughter shared this fine company photo with me recently of B Company, 5/158th Aviation Battalion at Maurice Rose AHP back in 88 or 89......... I remember many of the faces in this photo although I cannot remember all their names. They were as fine a group of soldiers as it was my pleasure to serve with and my friend Bill Wilson was among the very best..........Unfortunately Bill passed away earlier this year in West Virginia but I'm proud of the time we served together in the battalion S3.........RIP Bill.... feel free to share this with your mates; I know Bill would have liked that..........

Hello everyone... I started this post as a way for old soldiers and aviators that were assigned to Maurice Rose Army Heli-Port to reconnect with one another. Thirty years have passed since I was assigned to the 62nd Aviation Company which then became the 5/158th Aviation Battalion. My time there from 1987-1990 was one of my best and most memorable assignments and even today whenever a Huey flies overhead it takes me back momentarily to Frankfurt and the old airfield. If you were assigned to MRAHP and care to share photos of that time I will be pleased to post them on my page and of course credit you for sharing. I will root through my old box of photos and see if I've missed posting any from my time at MRAHP. Thanks again all!

Cheers

Maurice Rose Army Heliport (MRAHP), Bonames - 1987-1990

This is a page for former members of the 5/158th AVN Bn and 62nd Trans Co to reconnect that were stationed at MRAHP .........until it moved to Giebelstadt in 1991 following the 1st Gulf War.... This former airfield is slowly returning to nature but it is still recognizable for the V Corps installation it once was. In its heyday some 300 soldiers and aviators worked on the airfield. Some 30+ UH1, OH 58C, and OH 58D helicopters were stationed there. The mission of the 5/158th Aviation Battalion was to provide air transportation and artillery target acquisition for V Corps units.
