Yesterday retired K9 Denny was laid to rest and can now run pain free. He served his entire career with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and was responsible for finding the largest stolen explosive cache of ammunition and explosives in Georgia history. He also was featured in a book, Top 100 Malinois and Herders from around the world. Ranked at number 88. He protected everything from the Super Bowl all the way to his most important assignments responding to bomb threats in our schools. He also found numerous stolen guns that were either hidden or thrown during pursuits. He passed on in the arms of his handler and can watch over him from above. And will be waiting for him at the rainbow bridge when the time comes. K9 Denny your tour is over and we have the watch, you are 10-7/10-42. K-9 Denny was partnered with Sgt. Rob Avedisian during his time at Camden County.

Help us in wishing Retired K9 Mojo a Happy 11th Birthday!! K9 Mojo served our community and several others for many years as he worked along side Deputy Hardman. Over the course of his career, he alone was responsible for confiscating countless amounts of illegal narcotics and fi****ms. Even though he is no longer serving with us on the Camden County Sheriff's Office K9 Team, he is happy living his retired life with Deputy Hardman's family.

We would like to introduce you to our newest K-9 Team. Deputy Cooke has a new partner K-9 Bowie. He is a Narcotics Detection K-9 who just turned 1 and is from Europe. The team just completed a 4 week narcotics handler class at the Dooly County Sheriffs Office. Thanks to everyone who donates to our K-9 Fund as this would not be possible without you!

Yesterday Sgt. Sullivan stopped a vehicle for traffic infractions on Interstate 95. The driver of the vehicle was a convicted felon and had a firearm along with trafficking amounts of fentanyl, co***ne and methamphetamine. Good find K-9 Troger!

Over the past week K-9 Lola and Sgt Duckworth have been at the Augusta National Golf Club for the Masters. During the week K-9 Lola swept over 600 vehicles entering the property at multiple gates to ensure everyone who was at the tournament had a safe and fun time. Great work to K-9 Lola!

We would like to welcome back Sgt. Duckworth to the K-9 Unit, and introduce you to his new partner Explosive Detection K9 Lola. She is a 2yr old Lab born in Mexico. The team just completed the difficult GEMA/Homeland Security Certification which is a two-day event with many different scenarios and explosive odors. You will be seeing them right here in Camden and across the State of Georgia ensuring all people can have safe and fun time while attending events. Congratulations K9 Lola and Sgt. Duckworth.

Jessica Spinks and Georgia-Kay McCollum of the Camden Charlton Board of Realtors presented a check to the Camden County Sheriff's Office K-9 handlers today. The funds are used to provide food, medical care, and equipment for the K-9s. The K-9 team provides search and rescue, narcotics and bomb detection, handler protection, and cadaver recovery.
