Please reach out to Charlton County Extension if you would like to purchase Vidalia onions. The Camden County Extension office does not have any more onions to sell.

Happy Monday! If you would, please share with friends and family: The Charlton County Extension Office has 11 bags of Vidalia Onions available. Since they have been with us for a week, we would like to cut the cost to $10/bag. They can come by the office at 55 Kingsland Dr, Folkston from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (closed for lunch from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm). We accept cash or check. If you have any questions, call 912-496-2040. Funds raised through this fundraiser helps a child attend summer camp in June!

Help Restore Native Grasslands! - March 3rd until March 5th, 2026; 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Scan the code to register to volunteer for this free event!

Shanna Lee, Georgia Native Seed Network Field Technician for the State Botanical Garden of Georgia with UGA, and Birds GA will be leading this restoration work together at Jekyll Island State Park.
This project is working to convert retired holes on Oleander Golf Course into a native grassland which will serve as a wildlife corridor on the island. The corridor will include a mixture of maritime grassland and longleaf pine savanna trees. Both habitats are currently among the most limited habitats on the island but were once a dominant landscape feature along the coast.

WHERE: 100 Stable Rd, Jekyll Island, GA 31527
Jekyll Island State Park (park by the Mosaic, Jekyll Island Museum building, and walk into the planting site as a group. Estimated 3-10 minute walk.)

Dress for field work. Some things that may be nice to bring/wear are pants, closed toed-shoes, gloves, water, sunblock, bug spray, and snacks. Bathrooms may not be available on site but will be near the parking location. Bring a lunch, unless you want to pick up lunch at one of our restaurants on the island.
