May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to recognize the importance of connection, prevention, and support for children, families, and communities.
At HMS Hub, we know mental health does not exist in isolation. Families are stronger when local agencies, schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, and community partners are connected and working together.
That is why collaboration matters.
When organizations know what resources are available, where gaps exist, and how to make meaningful connections, families are better supported before challenges become crises.
This month, we encourage community partners to keep the conversation going:
• Share local mental health resources
• Strengthen referral pathways
• Look for service gaps
• Build relationships across agencies
• Support prevention-focused work in Harrison, Monona, and Shelby counties
Together, we can help create stronger systems of care for children and families.
