Great night of training with Chief Burlingame and Captain Ashford from St Charles Fire Department.
Grateful for the relationships and efforts to build a better fire service! As well the desire of others to be open minded and willing to learn.
Appreciate our mutual aid partners from East Alton and Roxana joining us.
Thank you to our instructors Aaron Burlingame and Chip Ashford who did an excellent job! As well, thank you to Survival Flight EMS for dinner/dessert, Venecia’s for the great pizzas and salad, Wal-Mart for the water and Gatorade, and Riverbend Family Ministries for the use of the room!
Our community partners stepped up again and made it a great night of learning.

A cold front will move through the area today bringing another chance for thunderstorms and heavy rain. If the clouds clear out behind the thunderstorms this morning, there will be a higher risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening, particularly over southwest Illinois and southeast Missouri.

05/18/2026

Another round of severe thunderstorms is expected Tuesday afternoon across portions of central, east-central, and southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. How strong thunderstorms are depends on how much lingering rain and cloud cover we see Tuesday morning. Less clouds will result in a higher and more widespread severe risk, while more clouds will keep thunderstorm ingredients lower, reducing the severe risk and keeping it further south. Wherever severe thunderstorms form, damaging winds and large hail are the main threats.
