Thank you veterans!
Those of us who have not served will never fully understand the sacrifices you've made both in times of peace and of war.
We will never fully understand what you were required to do or how you were able to do it.
We will never fully understand the depth of your scars.
But what we can offer you is this:
We see you.
We recognize your humanity.
And we send you Love that is gentle, patient and healing. With Blessings and Gratitude, we ask that you remember you are loved.

April: A month dedicated to our military children

Military children face unique challenges and make sacrifices. To recognize this, April is designated as the Month of the Military Child ( ).

Purple Up! Day — April 15 — is part of the monthlong celebration. To show support for military children and raise awareness about their sacrifices, people wear purple on this special day. Purple symbolizes a combination of the colors of each branch of the U.S. military: Army green, Navy blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue.

The American Legion Auxiliary appreciates and celebrates these children who give up so much as their servicemember parents work to protect and defend America, its people, and its principles. Thousands of ALA members and other members of The American Legion Family participate in Purple Up! Day.

Help Spread the Word About the PACT Act
Dear friends,

We must do everything that we can to ensure that veterans who have helped keep our country safe, secure, and free receive the full care and benefits that they have earned and deserve.

Thanks to the advocacy of veterans and their families – including Granite Staters – we strengthened health care and benefits for veterans by passing the bipartisan PACT Act. Through this landmark law, veterans who were exposed to toxic substances – as well as veterans who served in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Global War on Terror, or any combat zone after 9/11 – are able to enroll in VA health care. Additionally, the PACT Act expanded VA benefits for many veterans by increasing the number of medical conditions that are automatically presumed to have resulted from their service.

Now, we need to continue to get the word out so that more veterans are aware of the health care and benefits that they can receive through the PACT Act. To do so, I hope to highlight the experiences of Granite State veterans who have benefited from the PACT Act. If you are a veteran and have received VA health care or benefits through the PACT Act, please copy this link - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScXrvNlcu2dIYyQFPUvZRpXVrMcATaziQ3jaRVsRpXl7ZFFwA/viewform and tell me about your experience.

Highlighting the impact of the PACT Act on New Hampshire veterans can help more veterans learn about the legislation – and then get access to the benefits and health care that they deserve. Our country can never fully repay our debt to those who have served, but with your help we can honor and support more Granite Staters who have served our country in uniform.

With every good wish,

Senator Maggie Hassan
