ROAD CLOSURE - U.S. 24 in White County

U.S. 24 will close for seal coat operations between U.S. 231 and State Road 43/U.S. 421 starting on or after Monday, June 15. U.S. 24 will be closed to traffic in the area where work is occurring during the hours of 6am-6pm.

This work is weather sensitive so the schedule is subject to change. Motorists should utilize the detour or seek alternate routes while this work is ongoing. The official detour will follow U.S. 231, I-65, State Road 18 and State Road 43.

Seal coat projects treat the pavement surface with liquid asphalt material covered by crushed stone to provide a new roadway surface and prevent future deterioration. Seal coating provides waterproofing, crack sealing and improved traction. The roadway will also be fog sealed, which is a light layer of asphalt over the stone to help lock it in and also reduce dust. NOTICE: Letters of Interest Requested

The Town of Wolcott has an upcoming a vacancy on the Town Council, effective August 1, 2026. This vacancy will be filled at the appointment of the Wolcott Town Council.

Residents interested in serving on the Town Council are invited to submit a letter of interest outlining their background, qualifications, and reasons for wanting to serve. The term of this council seat will end on December 31, 2027.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a town resident of Wolcott
- Must be a registered voter

SUBMISSION DETAILS:
The deadline to apply for this position is on June 30, 2026 at 4pm.

Tomorrow is the Wolcott Farmers Market from 9am-noon! We will be set up at the park but on the south side along the park road due to tball games at the field tomorrow morning. Look for the market signs and tents set up. You don’t want to miss out on all the great vendors we have coming tomorrow.

Stop by this Saturday from 9am until noon at the farmers market. We will be set up in the parking lot by the community building due to tball games being played at the Wolcott field.
