We're looking forward to another historic day of celebration. We hope to see you at the Library in celebration of Juneteenth. Thank you SCI Woburn and St John's Baptist Church for bringing us together in community for this free family fun and learning.

Hydrant flushing Zone 6

The City of Woburn Water Department will resume water system flushing in zone 6 on Monday, June 15, 2026. Hours of flushing will begin at 8:30am until 3pm. Flushing will last approximately 14 business days, weather permitting.

The flushing area will start at Montvale Avenue at Wood Street and include all streets south of Montvale Avenue to Green Street, as well as the Montvale Avenue high-pressure zone off of Bow Street.

During this time, you may experience temporary loss of water, low water pressure, and/or discolored water. If you experience discolored water, it is recommended that you run your cold water faucets until your water runs clear.

Mayor Concannon and the Board of Health are partnering with Clean Harbors to collect Household Hazardous Waste for Woburn Residents on Saturday, August 1st.

WHO CAN ATTEND: Free to Woburn Residents. Maximum 25 gallons per household. Proof of residency required to attend. Business owners not allowed to participate.

HOW TO TRANSPORT MATERIALS:

Leave materials in original containers
Tighten caps and lids
Sort and pack separately: Oil paint, pesticides and household cleaners
NEVER MIX CHEMICALS
Pack your car and drive directly to the site
NEVER SMOKE while handling hazardous materials

Road Closures
From 9:30am – 1:30pm downtown traffic will be diverted for safety. Access to the library will be easiest from Harrison Avenue. The Common, including parts of Main Street, Pleasant Street, Common Street, and some surrounding streets will be closed for the hours of 9:30am-1:30pm, during flag ceremonies & student award distribution.
