My name is Shaun O’Keeffe, and I am asking you to elect me to the Woburn School Committee on November 2nd.

I am a life-long resident of Woburn. Raised in the South End near Horn Pond, now raising a family of my own on the East side. My wife, Patrice, and I are proud parents of our daughter, Ali, and our son, Christopher. Ali is a rising 6th grader heading off to the Kennedy, while Christopher is a rising 1st grader at the Goodyear.

Woburn holds a special place in my heart, and I want to give back to the community that has always taken care of me and my family. I want to serve as a member of this school committee that puts its students and families, teachers, and staff in the best position possible to succeed.

Our focus should be on the academic, social, and emotional development and well-being of our entire school community.

Our focus should be on content development as well as mental health and workforce skills for our children.

Our focus should be on supporting our educators, counselors, administrators, coaches and staff with their own professional development and challenges.

Our focus should be on building a community of diversity, inclusion and belonging for all.

I have over 13 years of finance, accounting, and administrative experience, with the last five focused on higher education. I have over a decade left of having children in this school system. My hope is to become a major contributor to the annual budgeting process, help frame the strategic fiscal vision, and fight for the resources that are needed for Woburn schools.

If you elect me, I pledge to use my knowledge and experience in ways to positively impact this school system and community as best as I know how.
