As more people are out enjoying bicycles and e-bikes, the Wixom Police Department would like to remind everyone to ride safely and responsibly while having fun this season.
The Wixom Police Department also wants to share an important reminder about e-bikes and the rules that apply to their use.
E-bikes are a fun and convenient way to get around, combining pedal power with electric assistance. As they become more popular, it’s important to remember when on the road way they must follow MOTOR VEHICLE LAWS meaning riders might need to adhere to the rules typically applied to vehicles on the roadway like speed limits, helmet rules, and road regulations.
Stay safe and ride smart!

***SCAM ALERT***

The Wixom Police Department will never call and ask for donations. Common signs of fraud attempts can include requests for Gift Cards, Crypto Currency and electronic payment forms like Zelle and Apple Pay. Scammers may also attempt to create a sense of urgency to increase the likelihood someone falls for a scam.

It is always recommend to hang up, not provide any information and verify the source/information in your own terms. For example, Independently contact the service or place the scammer is claiming to be from, and verifying the existence of the person or circumstances.

Heads up everyone, Beck Road is currently blocked by a train due to railroad maintenance and is expected to stay closed until around 4 PM today. 🚧🚂

If you’re heading that way, plan an alternate route to avoid delays!
