Recovery Month Highlight – September 5
Celebrating Dana Stelton of Three Bridges Recovery
Today we proudly honor Dana Stelton, whose story reflects the strength, gratitude, and renewed purpose that recovery can bring.

Dana shares that being part of Three Bridges Recovery has immensely changed his life. Supporting peers and walking beside them in their recovery has made his own healing stronger than ever. His life today is fuller, happier, and more meaningful — a life he once wasn’t sure he’d get back.

He says, “I have my life back. My family has their father and husband back.”
That restoration is one of the greatest gifts of recovery, and Dana carries it with deep appreciation.

With a huge heart and a passion for helping others, Dana is grateful that Three Bridges has given him the chance to become the person he was many years ago — someone grounded, present, and full of love for life. He shows up every day hoping to help someone else rediscover that same joy.

Dana, thank you for your dedication, your compassion, and the hope you bring to our community. Your journey strengthens others and makes Recovery Month even more meaningful.

Recovery Month Highlight – September 4
Celebrating Brittney Brock of Three Bridges Recovery
Today we’re honored to highlight Brittney Brock, whose heart for recovery and advocacy shines through everything she does.

When asked what Recovery Month means to her, Brittney shared that it’s a powerful reminder of how far compassion and understanding can go. In a world where stigma still exists, she believes deeply in the impact of showing kindness — and how it can change someone’s entire path.

As a coach at Three Bridges Recovery, Brittney loves being part of a community that keeps making room for themselves at every table. She’s proud of the way the team continues to break stigma, challenge old narratives, and show that recovery belongs everywhere.

One of the moments that stands out most in her work is seeing someone reunited with their children. For Brittney, that’s the biggest win there is — a reminder of why recovery matters and why the work is worth it every single day.

Brittney, thank you for your compassion, your advocacy, and the hope you bring to families and our community. Your voice and your heart make Recovery Month even more meaningful.

Congratulations on Your Recovery, Tom Vonck‑Baudraz

On September 3, 2018, Tom chose recovery, and he committed to it fully. He completed residential treatment, lived in recovery housing, and showed up to about seven meetings a week for an entire year. He took suggestions, stayed connected, and kept moving forward even when things were tough.

That commitment has carried him into a life filled with growth and purpose. Tom went back to school, got married, and eventually moved to Switzerland. Even more meaningful, he found confidence in everyday things that once felt overwhelming: grocery shopping, calling the doctor, filing taxes (which definitely didn’t get simpler after moving abroad). Those everyday wins say so much about how far he’s come.

One of Tom’s favorite reminders when life gets heavy is: “You never have to do today again.” Every hard day he gets through becomes proof that he can handle whatever comes next.

Three Bridges Recovery is proud to celebrate Tom not only for his recovery success, but for the leadership and heart he brings as our Board Chair and a true champion in recovery. His story shows what’s possible when someone chooses to keep going.

Recovery Month Highlight – September 3
Words of Wisdom from Elizabeth Walter of Three Bridges Recovery
Today we’re honored to share a message of compassion and strength from Elizabeth Walter, whose words remind us that recovery is not about perfection — it’s about being human.

Elizabeth wants anyone who is struggling to know this: you don’t have to carry everything alone. Whatever feels heavy, confusing, or exhausting right now — it makes sense. Feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human, and you deserve support.

She reminds us that even on the messiest days, you’re allowed to take small steps, to rest, to ask for help, and to believe that things can shift. Because they can.

You don’t have to fix everything at once.
You don’t have to be strong every minute.
You just have to keep going in the way you’re able — one honest step at a time.

Elizabeth believes in the future version of you who will look back with gratitude that you didn’t give up on yourself. That hope, that gentleness, and that resilience are at the heart of recovery.

Elizabeth, thank you for sharing your wisdom and reminding our community that healing happens one real, human moment at a time.

Celebrating Kindle McLaughlin of Three Bridges Recovery
Today we proudly highlight Kindle McLaughlin, whose journey shows that recovery isn’t a finish line — it’s a continuous path of learning, growth, and rediscovery.

Kindle shares that being part of Three Bridges Recovery has reminded her that life and recovery don’t “end” when substance use stops. She’s constantly evolving, uncovering new parts of herself, and finding strength in the process. Turning her lived experience into support for others has given meaning to chapters of her past that once felt heavy.

She went from wondering whether her story would always define her to realizing it can help someone else write theirs — a powerful shift from pain to purpose.

Kindle, thank you for your honesty, your heart, and the hope you bring to our community. Your story inspires others to keep growing, keep learning, and keep moving forward.
