2025 Annual Reports are available

Maine law requires each municipality to publish an annual report that provides transparency into its financial, operational, and administrative activities. (30-A MRSA §2801)

The Town of Wiscasset dedicates its annual report each year to a special individual(s) or group. The Selectboard chose to dedicate the annual report to Wiscasset Ambulance Service in recognition of 50 years of service to the community. Please read the dedication below.

Since its founding in 1976, the Wiscasset Ambulance Service has stood as a constant source of help, professionalism, and reassurance in moments when our residents and visitors need it most. What began as a community-built service, created by local people determined to care for their neighbors, has grown into a modern emergency medical service while never losing the spirit on which it was founded.

For five decades, the members of the Wiscasset Ambulance Service, past and present, have answered calls at all hours, in all types of weather, in all seasons, and under the most difficult circumstances. They have brought skill, compassion, calm judgment, and dedication to every emergency, every transport, and every family they have served. Their work has saved lives, eased suffering, and provided comfort in times of fear and uncertainty.

Their early history also stands as a bold testament to community service in Wiscasset: neighbors helping neighbors, ordinary citizens doing extraordinary work, and generations of providers building on the commitment of those who came before them. From its earliest volunteer roots to the advanced life support service it provides today, Wiscasset Ambulance reflects the very best of this town.

On behalf of the Town of Wiscasset, we extend our gratitude to every member who has contributed to the success of this service over the last fifty years. We also remember with fond appreciation the founders and early members whose vision and hard work created something that has endured for half a century.

With respect, gratitude, and pride, we dedicate this Annual Town Report to the Wiscasset Ambulance Service on the occasion of its 50th year of service.

Selectboard Chair Sarah Whitfield presents EMS Chief Erin Bean with the first copy of the 2025 Annual Report. Also, in the picture are Patience Middleton and Nick Henderson.

For a copy of the annual report, please pick up a copy at the Town Office, Wiscasset Recreation Center, Wiscasset Public Library, and Transfer Station.
