November 3, 2026

Residents may request an absentee ballot for the Special Town Meeting Town Referendum and the Annual School Budget Validation Referendum scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Absentee Ballots will be available Monday, October 5, 2026.

Your absentee ballot application must be received by the Municipal Clerk no later than the close of business on Thursday, October 29, 2026, unless you qualify for special circumstances under Maine law.

Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the Municipal Clerk by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2026.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE TO COMPLY WITH TITLE VI REQUIREMENTS

The Town of Wiscasset Selectboard will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Municipal Building, 51 Bath Road, Wiscasset, ME 04578, to discuss a grant application being submitted to the State of Maine CDBG program for economic development.

The purpose of this request is to help Zero Energy Homes, Inc. (ZEH) ramp up production at its new manufacturing facility located at 518 Gardiner Road in Wiscasset. ZEH (Zero Energy Homes) is a Maine-based developer specializing in affordable, net‑zero‑energy homes built using panelized and modular construction. The company’s model combines high‑performance building science with off‑site manufacturing to reduce costs, shorten construction timelines, and improve quality

Public comments will be solicited at this hearing and will be submitted as part of the application's required documentation. All persons wishing to make comments or ask questions about the proposal are invited to attend this Public Hearing. Public comments may be submitted in writing to: Economic Development Director, Municipal Building, 51 Bath Road, Wiscasset, ME 04578, or by email to: [email protected] at any time prior to the Public Hearing. Attention Wiscasset Motorists

The first day of school for Wiscasset Schools (Grades K–12) is Monday, August 31, 2026. Please use extra caution on our roads as students will be waiting at bus stops, walking to school, and crossing streets throughout town.

School buses will also be back on their regular routes. Remember to stop when buses display their red lights and extended stop arm. Passing a stopped school bus is both dangerous and illegal.

Please also obey posted school‑zone speed limits whenever school is in session.

The Wiscasset Police Department will be monitoring for violations.

Town Notice: Fireworks at Marianmade Farm – Saturday, August 22, 2026

The Town would like to inform residents that Marianmade Farm (28 Sherman Lane) will be holding a fireworks display on the evening of Saturday, August 22, 2026. The display is expected to occur after sunset.

Residents in nearby neighborhoods may hear loud noises during the event. Please plan accordingly for pets, livestock, and anyone sensitive to sudden sounds.
