911 call dispatchers feel demoralized and overworked. Plus, poor training on mental health crises and inconsistent dispatch codes may contribute to a violent police response.

Hello! I've been approved for two new TC positions at Harper College, in Palatine Illinois. In Illinois any state supported college/university must have a certified police department. We are ILEAP accredited. We work only days and 3-11 as the campus is locked down on midnights, so Comms is staffed with CSOs. Benefits are awesome. We are part of the State University Retirement System (SURS). If you are retiring from IMRF, you can draw and pay into SUR as a Tier 1 person. Great news! Well almost! I’m close to getting two more FT TC Positions for Fiscal Year 23-24.

Working as a College Police TC is a great retirement gig- and second pension! Super benefits, free tuition for dependents!

Because we are sooooo much slower than a Municipality or Sheriffs office I NEED experienced TCs who can handle “IT” hitting the fan infrequently. Too slow to train up a newbie!!!
