In 2010 the Village adopted a strategic plan for economic development created by the Economic Development Commission (EDC). The focus of these strategies center on the Village’s identity as a lakefront destination, as a means for maximizing non-residential revenues to help maintain and improve our community. As Lake County’s Lakefront, almost 2 million people visit North Point Marina and Illinois

Beach State Park each year—2 million people that need places to eat, shop, and play. We want to provide a place for promoting events that bolster the strategic plan. We want to provide a place for a clear representation of the Village’s lakefront identity. And we want a place to showcase business developments and opportunities. So, to our residents, our visitors, and now to the over 500 million people on Facebook…here we are. Welcome to our page.
