We have been in touch with the county concerning any water-related issues in the Winterville area on their side. Due to a pump issue, there was a slight interruption to water service, which agitated sediment in the lines in areas such as Canton, Tera Manor, and Garden Drive. We wish to assure the public that there is no boil order and no reason to be alarmed. In response, we will be flushing hydrants in the immediate area. We recommend that residents run their water for a short duration, if the water is brown or a has a slight metallic smell. Thank you.

The Wintersville Police Department will be accepting applications and resumes until June 1st, 2026 (3:00pm) for the position of a Part-time Administrative Secretary. This position is 30 hours per week and wage is based on experience.

Duties include: Answering phones, dispatching officers by radio, reviewing reports and charges, and all other police correspondence under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police. Must be proficient with computers and computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Applicant will also assist the Clerk of Court with Magistrate Court.

Applications can be picked up at the Wintersville Police Department, 200 Grove Street, Wintersville, Ohio 43953. Resumes may be mailed to the same location, Attention: Chief of Police. This is a big moment for the Village of Wintersville Public Works. You might be wondering why.

There are several reasons. Here are a few:

1. Until now, the Village of Wintersville had never used, rented, or bought a paver machine on its own. We always hired others for this work. This week, we took the first step and began learning to pave on our own. This is a HUGE milestone!
2. The village worked with the Cross Creek Township Road Department so we could help each other pave our roads. There was a lot of hands-on training this week. That is TEAMWORK in action.
3. Both municipalities saved a lot of money by splitting the CAT Paver rental cost evenly for the week, excluding labor and materials. Those numbers will be coming out soon. Stay Tuned!

A special thank you goes to the Village of Wintersville Mayor and Council, the Cross Creek Township trustees, and the Cross Creek Township Road Department for working together to make Wintersville and Cross Creek Township better places. Here are some pics.
