It has been 10 years since the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub and our community has experienced so much hurting and healing in that time. Today we remember the victims of this horrendous attack and honor them by working to make Florida a safer and more accepting place for the LGBTQ+ community.

On June 12th, 2016 our local community experienced one of the nation's worst mass shootings. It was even more painful for the fact that it targeted our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters. Although ten years have passed the pain and grief is still very real as is the feeling of not being safe in our own home. We must work every day to make a better future where this sort of bigoted violence is unthinkable.

Last Friday Rainbow Democrats joined our friends Lake County Florida Democratic Party, Lake County Golden Triangle Democratic Club, and the Lake County Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida at Eustis First Friday night market. We had some great conversations and also got to know candidate Royal Webster who joined us at the table.

Donate today to help a q***r candidate get on the ballot. DeJesus for Florida House District 38 is running to flip a Florida house seat in Seminole County. She only needs a few hundred dollars more for her qualifying fee. She is currently the only democrat filed in the race and qualifying ends in a few days. This seat was lost by less than 1% on 2024. Anything helps!
