Polk County SO Cadets, FL The Polk County Sheriff's Office Cadet Unit #1000 is designed for high school students residing in Polk County, Fl. with an interest in Law Enforcement.

Cadets are exposed to different aspects of law enforcement from deputies within the agency.

This weekend the Polk County Sheriff's Office Cadet Unit 1000 hosted the quarterly FAPE Delegates for police Explorers/Cadets. These are some highlights of the memories created during this training.

2026 January Delegates

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Cadets Unit #1000 Competition Team had the absolute pleasure of participating in the January 2026 Delegates, graciously hosted by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

The cadets began the year with a strong showing, receiving hands-on training in the following critical areas:
Assisting in a missing person investigation
Basic CPR and life-saving measures.

Building clearing and apprehension of an armed suspect.

Mass casualty response involving a vehicle, including emergency medical care.

Lastly, assisting, supporting, and translating for a robbery victim

Our cadets demonstrated professionalism, teamwork, and dedication throughout every scenario. We are incredibly proud of the commitment and growth shown by the Polk County Cadets Competition Team.

We also look forward to hosting the upcoming April Delegates, where we are excited to provide fellow cadet posts with engaging, realistic scenarios and high-quality training experiences.

Over the past week, members of PCSO Cadets Unit #1000 have been competing at the state competition sponsored by the Florida Association of Police Explorers.

After several rigorous scenarios, meant to resemble real life calls they could experience in Law Enforcement, I am proud to say that our team placed an overall 17th out of 34 competing teams from across the state.

Our competition team excelled in their active shooter scenario, bringing home 5th place!

The team showed resiliency, professionalism, and teamwork throughout the competition. We also want to thank the deputies, supervisors, PCSO agency members, and other Cadets who helped train and prepare this team.
