A huge thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to the Voter Rights Rally in Winter Haven! It was hot and humid, but electrifying! Shout out to the Concerned Citizens of Winter Haven for laying the foundation for this event and then allowing us to partner with them along with Indivisible groups and Defund Oligarchy! And a special thank you to the Polk County Supervisor of Elections, Melony Bell, for sending election staff to help register voters, answer questions and ensure that everyone has a plan for voting this year!

Thank you to the Puerto Rico Equality Foundation Inc. for joining in and reminding us of the struggle of our fellow citizens in Puerto Rico and how we can help in the fight for statehood and their rights!

I want to lift up the candidates who spoke so eloquently yesterday and brought home the need for everyone to get out and vote and use your voice to create positive change in every community:

Today, Memorial Day, is a day that has lost some of its meaning in this world. We remember those whose lives were lost in service to America. Volunteering your life to defend the freedoms of our country is no small commitment. For the family members and friends left behind, we offer our love and support. Let us ensure our actions each and every day as citizens, honor the sacrifice of life that has been the fate of over 1.3 million service members. May each of their memories be a blessing.
