🍎☀️ Summer Meals at South Pointe Elementary ☀️🍎

South Pointe Elementary is proud to be a Summer Meals Program site!

Breakfast: 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM
Lunch: 11:00-12:30 PM

Summer meals are provided through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Breakfast and lunch are free and available to all children and teens 18 years old and younger.

📍 Location: South Pointe Elementary

✅ Children must be present to receive a meal.
✅ Adults may accompany students but meals are only available to eligible children and teens.

We are excited to welcome families to our Summer Learning Open House for students participating in Polk County summer programs!

📅 Dates: June 2nd
📍 Where: Cafeteria
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who should attend: Families of students in the following programs:

* Camp Early Bird (incoming Kindergarten)
* 2nd Grade Power-Up Camp
* 3rd Grade Summer Learning
* Extended School Year (ESY)
* ELL
*Summer Bridge

This is a great opportunity to meet staff, learn about summer expectations, and get ready for a summer of growth and learning!

🚤🪙 Ms. McDuffie’s 1st grade class put their engineering skills to the test by designing boats and seeing how many coins they could hold before sinking! 🌊

Students predicted, tested, counted, redesigned, and maybe even had a few dramatic shipwrecks along the way 😂⚓

Hands-on learning + creativity + a little friendly competition = the perfect recipe for fun! We love seeing our young scientists and engineers at work! 👏

Ms. Zering (2nd grade) and Ms. Malcolm (3rd grade) teachers found a fun and engaging way for students to showcase what they want to be when they grow up—and let’s just say, the future is looking BRIGHT! 🌟

From future doctors and teachers to athletes, pastor, scientists, and more, our students reminded us that dreams have no limits when hard work and imagination come together. 💙

🚀📚 Parents, we need your help on a mission to search “to infinity and beyond” for any library books that may still be hiding at home! We still have 120 missing books 👀🔍

Library books were due back to the Media Center on May 8th, and we still have several books checked out to students. While we absolutely LOVE seeing our students excited about reading, we also want to make sure our books make it safely back home to the library shelves. 🤓📖

Please take a moment to check backpacks, bedrooms, under beds, in cars, and anywhere books may be tucked away. A fine slip was sent home with your student listing the names of the books and fee to replace it if ut cant be found. Every book returned helps keep our library stocked and ready for future readers! 💙

Thank you for helping us bring our books back home or for paying the fine so that we can purchase more! 📚✨
