Safety doesn't happen by chance.

It takes routine inspections, preventive maintenance, system monitoring, and regular training to keep our natural gas system operating safely.

While a lot of this work happens behind the scenes, it's an important part of how we help prevent problems before they happen.

Hit an unmarked line and the costs add up fast: repairs, fines, downtime, and a crew put at risk. 🚫

If you’re excavating anywhere in Lake Apopka Natural Gas District’s service area, call 811 at least two business days before you dig. 811 coordinates with us to mark buried gas lines free of charge, so you know what’s below before you begin your project.

A few reminders once you’re on site:

1. Review your ticket before digging
2. Respect the marks (they’re valid 30 days)
3. Use hand tools within the 24-inch tolerance zone around any marked line
