It's official: Germany Football Team has arrived in Winston-Salem! 🇩🇪⚽

This weekend, a record crowd packed Soldier Field in Chicago to watch the four-time World Cup champions close out their final match before the FIFA World Cup! Our President & CEO Mark Owens was on the field with more than 100 fellow Winston-Salem locals, all there representing Greater Winston-Salem.

And now the team is calling our city home. Wake Forest University and The Graylyn Estate are serving as Germany's official 2026 World Cup base camp, putting Winston-Salem on the global stage all summer long! 🏆

On May 19, GWSI met directly with Senator Paul Lowe Jr., Rep. Amber Baker, Rep. Kanika Brown, and Rep. Jeff Zenger to talk legislative priorities and advocate for the growth of the Greater Winston-Salem business community.
