Our open house was a success! We are so grateful to everyone who attended. It was wonderful to talk and connect with everyone! A huge thank you goes to NCDP Chair Anderson Clayton for speaking at our event! We loved seeing all the meaningful conversations take place.

Pride Winston Salem is hosting a free name change clinic! You can meet with legal professionals about navigating the adult name change process in North Carolina. It will be located at the Salem College Student Center on Thursday, September 28 from 6-7:30 PM. It is by appointment only so use the QR code to sign up for a meeting.

We’re angered but not surprised by the legislature’s intentionally cruel attacks on members of the LGBTQ community. It’ll take all of us, but we will put a stop to these pointless, barbarous attacks on our friends and families. This is a difficult moment and we’ve provided resources if you need help or are looking for ways to get involved.

Today we are celebrating Juneteenth! This holiday marks the full ending of slavery and freedom of the last enslaved people in Galveston, TX. It was made a federal holiday in 2021. We are still fighting for voting rights and rights for all today. No matter how hard the battle, good will always triumph over evil. The fight for justice is one that we must all undertake.

North Carolina’s Senate Bill 20 would ban abortions after 12 weeks. This is an outrage to us and our fellow North Carolinians. NC has been a safe haven in the south for access to safe abortions and that safety is at risk. We urge you to call on your representatives and protest this clear violation of bodily autonomy. Please check our story for more details on ways to fight this bill.
