Coy C. Carpenter Library encourages all researchers who request scholarly or reference support—including literature searches, systematic reviews, data management consultations, and publishing assistance—to have an ORCID iD (Open Researcher and Contributor ID).

An ORCID iD is a free, unique identifier that connects you to your research across systems and institutions. It ensures accurate attribution, improves visibility of your work, and simplifies reporting grants, publications, and institutional records.

On Friday, July 17, Library staff members set up tables at the Winston-Salem and Charlotte MD Class of 2030 Orientation Fairs. Goodies included branded items: insulated lunch bag, sticky notes, bookmarks and a few items from the past such as sunglasses and first aid kits. Library staff also promoted the Library’s New Blog – https://libguides.wakehealth.edu/latestnews/blog

Look who we found in the wild! While in Charlotte for a medical school event, a Library staff member found second-year MD students at the Uptown Farmers Market for Nutrition Day! History Corner alert! We have a new display in the library, a prop diploma from the 2016 movie, The Choice. The main character of the movie, played by Tom Welling, attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the diploma appeared briefly in the film. After filming, 4 principal actors from the movie signed the diploma and sent it to our school! Cool!

Come to the library to see this item and other historical displays such as our incubator, iron lung, and 8 decades worth of school yearbooks!
