The Shalom Project of Winston Salem The Shalom Project is a non-profit in Winston-Salem, NC serving the area with a variety of programs. Schedule: Every Wednesday.

OUR PROGRAMS:

Medical Clinic:
With the assistance of all volunteers--including doctors, nurses, and other health care providers--the Shalom Project runs a medical clinic each Wednesday night. The Clinic has become a place where patients can receive their primary health care and medical interns have an opportunity to receive community care training. Those either uninsured or under insured are welc

ome to come to the Clinic for their basic health care needs. No documentation is required, but a list of current medications is helpful. Check in begins at 5:00

Food Pantry & Clothing Closet:
The Clothing Closet and Food Pantry are open each Tuesday. Volunteers and staff sort and distribute food and clothing to members of the community that find themselves in need of these resources. The food pantry partners with The Second Harvest Food Bank, local associations, and area faith communities that hold food drives and make both material and financial donations.
- The Clothing Closet receives seasonal donations from a variety of sources and distributes them at no cost.
-Clients are eligible every 30 days. Schedule: Each Tuesday morning from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Please bring a type of photo ID (does not have to be state-issued). Peters Creek Community Initiative:
The Peters Creek Community initiative (PCCI) is a collaborative of churches, neighborhood associations, businesses and officials that have joined for the purpose of revitalizing the Peters Creek Community through economic and community development. The Initiative is led by a Community Advisory Board, who report to The Shalom Project Board of Directors. Volunteering:

The Shalom Project is looking for solo or duo acts to perform at this year's The Big Chill 2026 on Saturday July 18. If you have ever wanted to busk on the street corner and share your music directly, now is your chance. Unlike the mean streets we can guarantee an audience of ever receptive and good natured ice cream lovers! Each act can play approximately 30 minutes and should be able to set up and break down very quickly. If you are interested in being a “Big Chill Busker” send an email to [email protected] along with some links or examples of your music.

Last Monday was one of our favorite days at Shalom--- Flourish and Florecer graduation! It is always such a special evening of celebration. We are so proud of our graduates and Achievers and always grateful for the support of our companions, volunteers, and childcare team.

Thank you again to Ardmore United Methodist Church for the use of their great space. And thank you to Brajan A. Funes for capturing these amazing shots!

It was a day of celebration at The Shalom Project today!

First, we celebrated that Mercedes Jackson graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master's in Social Work. We are immensely proud of how hard she has worked and couldn't be happier for her!

Secondly, we can't let the day go by without acknowledging that on this day in 2006, The Shalom Project was officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) by the IRS. We are so grateful for everyone who helped us get this far, and can't wait to see what the next 20 bring.

We sure do miss seeing this smiling face around the office! We celebrated Carrie Reagler last week as she wrapped up her semester long internship with us. Carrie started with us in January and racked up over 100 hours with us this Spring. Carrie is a rising Junior at Salem College and is majoring in Nonprofit Management and Community Leadership. We are so grateful to our Shalom friend Sharee Fowler for introducing us to Carrie. We are confident she will go on to do great things!
