The YP (young professionals) Civitan program is designed for young adults ages 21-35. This initiative offers all the core benefits of Civitan membership to young professionals in today’s fast-paced world. itan has grown to over 40,000 members in more than 35 countries, including youth and college programs. We’re now expanding our reach to you, the young professional who wants to get involved in your city, with your friends, to network, socialize, build leadership skills and serve the community—while having a great time doing it! Are you looking to network with new friends? YP Civitan clubs operate much like traditional Civitan clubs, with an increased emphasis on being awesome. Most clubs hold meetings or projects twice a month just after work in pubs or restaurants to allow for social time. There’s plenty of time to mingle at socials and fun events, which are scheduled along with projects throughout the year. Do you want to give back to your community? This exciting new initiative is tailor-made for young adults who want to make a difference in their community, but have limited time to do so. Emphasis is placed on service projects and events that benefit the local community rather than lengthy meetings. Would you like to develop as a leader? YP Civitan creates opportunities for its members to develop their leadership skills in an expressive environment. Clubs offer board of director and committee positions as well as interesting speakers throughout the year. YPs may also seek leadership positions on the district and international level of Civitan.
