Mount Zion Senior Life Enrichment Center Providing a safe, active environment for Seniors to provide a respite for care-givers and to engage their minds, bodies and spirit.

Nutrition Policy
SLEC provides breakfast, lunch, and a pm snack everyday of open operation. SLEC provides a therapeutic diet approved and written by a dietitian, cooked by a licensed chef. Each meal is planed out for each week and put on a calendar posted in the activity room. Procedure
Each meal is served in a sanitary manner using safe food handing techniques recommended by the United States Dep

artment of Agriculture. Food safety and sanitation practices are required to serve in SLEC room. SLEC promotes self-dignity, sense of belonging, and self-esteem; during devotions our participant can express themselves in any way they choose. We open with a word of prayer and a song, then the floor is open for whoever would like to speak. Exercise is to help maintain and improve mobility. It also can increase strength in the joints and range of motion. We use videos of professionals, staff, and OT, PT students for our exercising sessions. Our activities provide social interaction with other participants. This gives the participants a since of belonging, and it boosts their self-expression. Furthermore, our activities provide fun, and enjoyment and it develops a belonging. When our participants leave the center, they feel accomplished and a will to come back to for the relationships. SLEC prohibits gambling at the center. Transportation is provided for our participants within a 15 min radius of the facility.
