As EMS Week comes to a close, Winsted Ambulance would like to recognize the dedication, teamwork, and commitment shown every day by our ambulance volunteers and Northeast Fire Rescue staffing members.

This week, our crews came together for a barbecue to celebrate the strong partnerships and friendships that help make our service possible. EMS Week is a time to recognize the providers who answer the call day and night, delivering emergency care, compassion, and support to the communities we all serve.

Thank you to all EMS professionals, firefighters, police, dispatchers, and mutual aid partners for everything you do to keep our communities safe.

Some of our members from Winsted Ambulance were honored to attend the Annual Hartford HealthCare EMS Dinner alongside providers and agencies from across the region.

The evening was a great opportunity to recognize the dedication, teamwork, and commitment shared throughout the EMS community. We are proud to stand beside so many hardworking first responders who continue to provide exceptional care to the communities we serve every day.

Congratulations to Harwinton Ambulance who received the John Capobianco award for Community Service and Leadership in EMS! And thank you to Hartford HealthCare for hosting such a wonderful event and for supporting EMS providers across Connecticut.

On Sunday we finished Day Two of TECC!

Day two of our TECC class put providers skills into action through hands on patient drills, building IFAK bags, and putting trauma training from day one into practice. The day wrapped up with a mock active shooter MCI drill in the school cafeteria, testing providers’ skills under pressure.

A big props to East Coast Tactical for putting on a great class for us! Thank you to the CSP Police Cadets for volunteering as patients and helping create realistic scenarios, and to Hinsdale School for the use of their building.

We had an amazing time participating in the Pet Parade this weekend!

Even while answering calls throughout the event, our dedicated team still made sure Responder One fly car proudly rolled through the parade route.

We’re honored to serve our community every day while also joining in on the fun that makes Winsted so special. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this wonderful event!

Day One of TECC!!

Our first day of TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) class has officially wrapped up! Providers from across Connecticut spent the day sharpening critical trauma skills (and learning some new ones), participating in hands-on training, and learning through important presentations designed to strengthen emergency response in high-pressure situations. Individuals were given the opportunity to practice some paramedic skills such as intubations, and IVs as well as some BLS skills like movement using a sked and webbing as well as bleeding control!

We’re proud of everyone’s dedication to continuing education and commitment to providing the highest level of care to our community. Looking forward to Day Two!
