These dedicated professionals stand vigilant during our most challenging times, safeguarding our communities, and responding to emergencies that most individuals hope will never arise.

To every officer, dispatcher, support staff member, and family member who stands behind them, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.

As a whole, we should acknowledge their sacrifices, honor their service, and remember those who have given their lives in the pursuit of justice.

The Winona Police Department is now accepting applications for Certified Police Officers.

Requirements:
• Must be currently certified as a law enforcement officer in Mississippi.
• Valid driver’s license
• Good moral character and commitment to public service
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
• Applications are available for pickup at the Winona Police Department.

The Winona Police Department would like to inform the public that debris cleanup will take place on Middleton Road this Saturday (04/11/2026) morning from approximately 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. During this time, traffic delays are expected. Law enforcement officers will be on scene assisting with traffic control to ensure the safety of both workers and motorists. Motorist are strongly encouraged to use an alternate route, if possible, to avoid delays. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

‼️ At this morning’s initial appearance, Winona Municipal Court Judge Larry Bamberg denied bond for Detavion Meeks, Sr. Meeks is charged with capital murder in the 2021 death of his 3 month old baby .

🚨 City of Winona Public Notice 🚨

The City of Winona reminds all residents and businesses that City Ordinance is in effect and is being enforced following the recent Winter Storm.

This ordinance regulates transient solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants, and vendors of merchandise within the City of Winona, Mississippi.

🚫 It is declared a nuisance for any individual or business engaging in these activities to enter or go upon private residences, property, or businesses without being invited or requested to do so.

This includes unauthorized solicitation for debris removal, cleanup services, repairs, or merchandise sales.

⚖️ Penalties for violation:
Any person or persons violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined up to $200, imprisoned for up to 30 days, or both.

📞 Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious or unauthorized solicitation activity to the Winona Police Department.
