🌞🌿Growing Safe Together: A Summer Safety Series for Families🌿🌞

Welcome back to our series: Growing Safe Together: A Summer Safety Series for Families. This week, we are building on trusted adults, and incorporating them into the safety rules that we teach our children. Join us each week as we share simple, practical strategies you can use right away to build connection, strengthen safety skills, and help your child grow with confidence.

Week 2- Practice: Three Safety Rules Every Kid Should Know

We want our children to feel prepared for any challenge that they may face. When it comes to safety, there are three simple rules that we can teach our children- say no, get away, and tell a trusted adult. These three rules can be used in a variety of situations so that whatever your child faces, they can handle it with confidence.

This week, we are going to dive into each of the three safety rules. We will discuss why each rule is important, and provide helpful tips to practice this at home.

🌞🌿Growing Safe Together: A Summer Safety Series for Families🌿🌞

This summer, we are starting a blog on our website to support parents with resources and education to help keep children safe. Each week, we’ll explore a new topic together and share simple, practical strategies you can use right away to build connection, strengthen safety skills, and help your child grow with confidence.

Week 1- Connect: Helping Children Identify Trusted Adults
https://www.netcac.org/blog/post/connect-helping-children-identify-trusted-adults (click Link)

One of the most important steps in keeping kids safe is helping them recognize who their trusted adults are. When children know who they can go to, they are far more likely to speak up when something feels unsafe or concerning.

In this week’s post, parents can learn how to help their children identify trusted adults and practice speaking up when they need help.

🌍💙 International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression 💙🌍

Today, we recognize the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, a day dedicated to raising awareness of the countless children around the world who suffer as a result of violence, abuse, exploitation, conflict, and neglect.

This day serves as a powerful reminder that protecting children is a shared responsibility. By raising awareness, supporting child-focused organizations, advocating for stronger protections, and speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves, we can help create a safer world for every child.

At the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center, we remain committed to standing beside children and families affected by abuse, providing hope, healing, and justice.

Now that school is out, who’s watching out for our kids?

During summer break, children spend more time away from teachers, school staff, and others who may recognize the signs of abuse or neglect. That means it’s up to all of us as a community to help keep kids safe.💙

One caring adult can make all the difference in a child’s life. Let’s work together to protect our children this summer. 💙 Texas Department of Family and Protective Services

This Memorial Day, take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Because of their courage and selflessness, we are able to enjoy time with our families and loved ones today. 🇺🇸

"DON'T BOTTLE IT UP!"💙💛💚🩷🧡
This Mental Health Awareness Month, our team is wearing a simple but powerful reminder that every emotion matters, and it’s okay to talk about what you’re feeling.
Feelings aren’t meant to be hidden away. Whether it’s joy, sadness, fear, anger, or anxiety, sharing what’s on your heart is a brave and important step toward healing. You don’t have to carry it alone—don’t bottle it up. 💚
