***UPDATE*** The phone lines are restored and functioning properly.

Union County Government landline phones as well as the Sheriff’s Office lines are currently experiencing issues. With that being said 911 calls have not been affected.

County IT staff are working to restore service as quickly as possible. At this time, there is no estimated restoration time.

Updates will be shared as they become available. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

We had a great time tonight at Wingate University with our brothers at Wingate Volunteer Fire Department helping in the annual Duck Race put on by Provision Church! We’re thankful to be a part of this awesome community.

Union County Public Schools is back TOMORROW! Plan to leave with plenty of time for the extra traffic on the road in the morning. BE AWARE, DON’T RUSH and help us keep everyone SAFE! 🚌🛑🚸

🚧🚧🚧 Intersection of Faulks Church Road and Camden Road is currently closed. DOT is repairing a downed traffic signal and utility pole. Please use caution in the area and seek alternative route.

🚧 Road Closed Means Road Closed 🚧

The barricades are there for your safety. While the rain may have stopped in some areas, the danger has not. Creeks, streams, and drainage systems continue to rise long after the rainfall ends, and with additional heavy rain expected overnight, conditions can quickly worsen.

Remember:
🌧️ Never drive through flooded roadways.
🚧 Never move or drive around barricades.
🚗 Turn around and find another route.

It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle off the roadway, and the depth or condition of the road beneath the water is often impossible to see.

🎆 Celebrate the 4th. Stay Safe.
Nothing ruins Independence Day faster than a trip to the emergency room or a fire that could have been prevented.
If you're celebrating with fireworks this weekend, remember a few simple safety tips:
🇺🇸 Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby.
🇺🇸 Never allow children to handle fireworks.
🇺🇸 Only light one firework at a time.
🇺🇸 Never relight a firework that doesn't go off.
🇺🇸 Keep a safe distance from people, homes, vehicles, and dry grass.
The best way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a professional display.
We hope you have a fun, safe, and happy Independence Day. If an emergency does happen, call 911 immediately.

Now through this weekend is dangerous heat. Please be extra cautious and stay hydrated.

Especially with the holiday weekend in mind, remember that heat stroke and heat exhaustion are no joke. Kids, animals and anyone spending time outdoors need to be especially aware of the symptoms of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Limit time outdoors, hydrate and in case of emergency, call 911.

An extreme heat wave is expected from Wednesday through July 5, with highs up to 102 degrees, prompting safety measures for people, pets, and home cooling systems.
