Thank you all for the honor of representing the D94 community since 2007, first as Treasurer, then on the Board starting in 2009.
At times, things weren't easy. The economic downturn of 2008-09 required decisions to be made that no one wanted to make. In 2018, the District came way too close to having a strike that no one wanted.
But, what will stand out are all the other times... Graduations... new curricular option, particularly career path offerings... AVID.... and so much more.
Something that is special to me is all of the improvements to the facilities over the years. The 2nd floor on the west side of the building came about from a conversation I had with Superintendent Domeracki at a Friday night football game. Sometimes, the smallest question can spark the most amazing things! I hope that every staff member in the district carries that same spirit.
I've also had the pleasure of serving with so many talented board members that also stepped up to serve the community. We all came from different backgrounds, with a common goal. That was easy at times, and not at others. In the end, decisions were made using our best collective judgement. Hopefully, we were right far more often than wrong.
After another month, I'll take a seat in the audience and keep tabs on what's happening.
