‼️UPDATE TO E 117th AVE UTILITY PROJECT‼️
East 117th Avenue will reopen at approximately 6:00pm on Monday, May 18, 2026. The utility project will be ON HOLD for 2 weeks before the road will be closed again. We will post updated information on any anticipated traffic disruptions associated with the project on our website www.winfield.in.gov and the Town of Winfield, Indiana's pages

The Town of Winfield Police Department participated in the COP ON A ROOFTOP event on May 15th to help raise funds for Special Olympics athletes. Donations can still be made by scanning the QR code on the flyer

Great job to our officers that participated in the COP ON A ROOFTOP event this morning at the Dunkin' store and THANK YOU to those that stopped by to donate to Special Olympics Indiana! This year we surpassed our cash donations from last year, raising $2,278.49! The online donations are still being tabulated and you can still DONATE ONLINE by scanning the QR code and entering WINFIELD as the location.

At the February 24th Town Council Meeting, Police Chief Robert Byrd introduced Officer Jesse Vargas, who was sworn in as a new Police officer for the Town of Winfield, Indiana Police Department. Officer Vargas was sworn in by Clerk Treasurer Michael Lambert and accompanied by his family. Welcome to the Town of Winfield PD!

Sending heartfelt condolences to the City of Beech Grove on the loss of Officer Brian Elliott, who was killed in the line of duty on Monday, February 17, 2026. We are praying for his family, friends and fellow officers as they deal with this tragedy. Our Police Department, along with all police flags around the State of Indiana, are at half-staff in his honor and memory.

PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT: As a courtesy for our residents of the Town of Winfield, Indiana, we now have 2 designated "Safe Exchange Zone" parking spaces. They are in the Police Department parking lot at 10688 Randolph Street. The spaces are for anyone who wants a safe, monitored environment to meet up for e-commerce transactions (such as Facebook Marketplace) or child custody transfers. The area is under 24-hour surveillance, but we suggest meeting up during daylight hours. If you have an emergency, you can dial 911, or use the red phone in the Police Department lobby (open 24-hours) to reach an officer on duty.
