Today we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation's history.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved people in Texas, more than two years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation.
Libraries play an important role in preserving history, promoting lifelong learning, and providing access to diverse voices and experiences. We invite you to explore books, films, and resources that highlight Black history, culture, and achievements.

Worms are so cool! We had a chance to touch worms and even see their eggs! SCARCE hosted a program about composting worms. We also planted bean seeds in CD cases so that we can watch them grow through the clear acrylic. Plant a seed and watch it grow! We have a cd with bean seeds at the library, so stop in next week to see what it looks like.
