Do you have a new driver in your home, or will you have one soon? Join us for the FREE First Impact presentation in April, sponsored by 79Safe and taught by Sergeant Giamanco and Allyn Workman, program specialist.

Research confirms that GDL laws have been instrumental in reducing teen crashes by 20 percent to 40 percent.

First Impact offers a FREE 90-minute evidence-based traffic safety program that educates parents and teen drivers about Missouri’s GDL law. The goal of First Impact is to reduce the number of motor vehicle fatalities, injuries and crashes among teen drivers by increasing parental awareness and enforcement of Missouri’s GDL law.

Objectives of the program are to increase:

- Awareness of teen driving risks
- Understanding of Missouri’s GDL law
- GDL monitoring and enforcement at home
- Importance of being a positive role model

The program is delivered by trained Law Enforcement Officers and Facilitators who coach parents by presenting key facts and proven strategies to help parents lower their teens’ crash risk by utilizing the Missouri GDL law.

Register soon at the link below, as seating is limited. For questions, or further information you can contact Allyn Workman or Sgt. Giamanco at [email protected]

Troy Police Department located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on it. Winfield Officers responded to the scene and confirmed it was the suspects involved in the incident in Winfield. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a AK-47 rifle was located and seized as evidence. 1 adult was booked into Lincoln County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold. 3 Juveniles involved in the case were released pending further investigation.

We would like to thank Troy Police Department for their assistance with this case.

What's that? I think I see something over there, Dad. Oh, never mind, that's just my reflection in the rearview mirror. Well, anyway, we hope everyone had a great weekend. We are out patrolling the city, trying not to freeze. Have a safe and warm night.

We would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year!!! Please have a great night celebrating, but please be responsible!!!

DWI fatalities are 100% preventable if you plan ahead and designate a sober driver. Each and every one of you are important, so please arrive alive!!!

We would also like to remind you that what goes up must come down!!! So, if you plan to celebrate with a few rounds of celebratory gunfire, not only is it illegal to discharge a firearm within city limits, you are also responsible for any rounds that cause property damage, physical injury, or worst-case scenario death.

Lastly we welcome 2026 and hope for a bigger brighter future for the City of Winfield, the Winfield Police Department, and the Residents of Winfield!!!
